My husband would love it if they would have the right size. We ordered the size S because that size was only in stock, but unfortunately, it was too small. I am not saying this one is not true to size, it is. My husband's regular size is M in this brand, but we tried the S because that was only in stock. This is a perfect high-quality HS so far, not just for rainy days or skiing, it's very durable for mountaineering and not too heavy.

This is an impressive jacket. The zippers are some of the most durable/waterproof I've used and the ability to cinch down every opening makes it easy to get the perfect fit for any weather. Everything about this jacket is well designed the hood is massive enough for any size of helmet while still being comfortable when worn without a helmet. It's large enough to allow for generous layering without being baggy when worn with fewer layers underneath. My only gripe with the jacket is the part in front of my face around the top of the zipper; it comes up way too high. For me, it comes up to around my chin or mouth, maybe above my nose if I'm slouching or crouching, and I have a relatively long neck and large head. In theory, this is good for weather protection when the zipper is done all the way up, but it makes the jacket almost useless when it isn't fully zipped up. When partially unzipped from the top, the 'lapel' sticks out away from the body, beyond the edge of the hood, essentially creating a funnel that collects water falling off the hood sending it inside the jacket. If I was planning on always wearing the jacket fully zipped up, that would be fine, but I find that in warmer weather, I need to partially unzip it to allow warm air from my core to vent without overheating my neck and face. This jacket would be perfect if this part was shorter, since it would still be waterproof and protected from the elements and I could simply wear a balaclava in colder weather if I needed the warmth and extra coverage. Unfortunately, it's not quite perfect, which makes the price a little harder to swallow.

OK let's swallow the cost pill and aside from that a great jacket for scrambles and mountaineering in the Rockies. Impressed by the weight and features that are practical. I'm retiring my older North Face Summit series jacket (that was a treat) and looking to find equal or better . . this jacket may well be the answer. I've used it twice since purchase and am completely pleased. I particularly like the quality to weight ratio . . . and the fact that this jacket is perfect for the Rockies . . .

Amazing construction (built to last) and features. I was surprised how breathable it is especially with the arm vents opened up and found myself with it on all day. In colder temps I wear under layer, mid layer, and then this and it works perfectly. Lots of mobility swinging ice axes above your head and the hood is fantastic with a helmet on (love the face covering). Sleeves fit over all my glove types perfectly and keep snow out. Sizing is designed to fit underlayers.
Love the features, very well constructed, perfect hard shell jacket a must have all around jacket.
