Introduced in the 1960s as a folding version of the 649 model, the 714 were the first-ever folding glasses. This model requires ten additional manufacturing steps compared to the standard ones. 714 glasses owe their fame to Steve McQueen™, who wore them in the film The Thomas Crown Affair.

Features
• Lenses: Crystal lenses are a point of pride for Persol. Representing quality and excellence, most models use lenses made from the most precious optical material of natural origin guaranteeing protection and visual clarity.
• Comfort: In the early history of Persol, when the glasses were produced in small volumes, the company also offered more than four different sizes for each pair of glasses, bridges of various heights and widths and arms of various lengths – all in the name of making each pair of glasses essentially “made to measure” so they would be as comfortable as possible.
• Meflecto: Patented at the end of the 1930s, the Meflecto is the world’s first flexible stem system designed for maximum comfort by eliminating pressure on the head from the arms of glasses.
• Quality: Born out of a rich tradition of research and quality, a history of technological perfection and attention to fine detail, Persol glasses are in a class of their own.
• The arrow: Persol’s founder Giuseppe Ratti intuitively recognized the need to differentiate and make his products iconic and recognizable.

When placing your order, the size of the sunglasses always refers to the diameter of the lens.
