Lightweight, Compact & Great for Emergencies

I’ve used the Survive Outdoors Longer Escape Lite Bivvy on outdoor trips and really like how compact and lightweight it is. It takes almost no space in my pack, which makes it easy to carry as an emergency shelter without adding unnecessary weight. The material feels more durable than a basic emergency blanket and does a good job reflecting body heat while providing protection from wind and the elements. I especially like that it can also be used as a lightweight sleeping-bag liner or as extra protection if conditions get colder than expected. A simple, well-designed piece of gear that I’m happy to keep in my pack for hiking, trail running, and backcountry trips.

    Incontournable

Je ne l'ai pas utilisée mais elle est désormais dans mon sac de rando et de ski de fond nordique!

    Super light and packable

Was pretty difficult to get it back in the stuff sack, but still super small and light

    Essential safety item for visibility

Essential safety item for visibility and protection. A little bigger than a pop can at a manageable weight for longer day trips

    Emergency kit

Bought a couple for our emergency kits, seems like a well built product. Haven’t used it.

    Safety First

I do a lot of trail running and always carry a compact space blanket. However, I wanted to upgrade to a bivy for more remote long distant runs where I might have to wait much longer for rescue and for winter running where the extra warmth would be appreciated. Some races also require a full bivy as mandatory equipment. I am very pleased with this bivy. It is much bigger than a space blanket, but still small enough to pack into a running vest and is still very light. The stuff sack helps keep it compact and avoids it getting wet and sweaty without needing to put it in another watertight bag. Space blankets and bivy’s suffer from causing lots of condensation as they don’t breath - when I have used them in the past it is impossible to not get soaked. The breathable material on this one helps that a lot without compromising much on the heat retention and waterproofness.

    Great for Emergencies

I have never had to use this bivvy, but always bring it with me on hikes for emergencies. It is relatively lightweight and not too bulky. I usually forget it's at the bottom of my bag.
