The boots fit great, are lightweight, with a very comfortable shape. But, durability is lacking. This is my second pair of Altras that has started to fall apart at the MTP joint. The soles and rest of the shoe still have a lot of life left, so I'm disappointed that they're coming apart as quickly as they are at that one spot.
Keeping my feet dry and warm for winter snow hikes! Super comfortable.
I was disappointed that after only 10 minutes into a 30 minute easy walk in the rain and through shallow puddles these boots started letting in water. By the end of my walk my socks were soaken. I can confirm the water was not entering though the ankles as I was wearing waterproof trousers over the boot. I have hiked thousands of miles in Altra shoes so I was willing to give them a try. Sadly, I was mistaken in believing their marketing hype. Choose a different brand, like Muck Boots, if you truly want waterproof.
Love all my other Altras, but these ones don't fit the same as the shoes. Super tight across the top of the foot. Will be returing and trying something else.
Excellente bottes imperméable. Je m'en sert comme bottes d'hiver pour les aller-retour quotidiens qui ne nécessite pas des bottes très chaudes. Ça marche beaucoup mieux que des bottes d'hiver plus grosses. 0 drop, devant du pied large, très confortable, légèrement chaud. A+.
These boots, and I call them boots as they are a little higher than mids are super comfortable. Just completed a 10k hike on some pretty technical terrain and my feet feel good. More importantly (for me) is the incredible ankle support. Laces stay snug in the clips too, they fit like a glove to be honest. Only concerns- they are warm (so great for the colder weather) and they do not have the Vibram sole part.
The top digs into my leg need to figure what to wear with them yo make them mire comfortable.
Like how light weight it's, toe area so roomy. But toe area too roomy also easy to cause downhill toe forward issue, create uncomfortable. It's hard to say who could fit that.
The Altra trail shoes have a very wide forefoot and toe box. The design of this shoe/boot has some sort reinforcement across the forefoot and the material isn't as forgiving as the trail runner. Lone Peak Mid was too narrow across forefoot for these reasons, unfortunately had to return. Can't say on comfort or durability.
Light and effective.
