This is a durable, well-made, very functional hat that is a true icon of the wilderness. This version is the largest in the Filson line-up, effectively shading sun and repelling rain. Sizing can be an issue, and these hats tend to shrink a little after getting wet. Better to buy a little big compared to small. Recommended

I measured myself and was clearly a medium according to the sizing chart. Had to exchange for a small, as the medium was far too big.
Objectively, this is a well-constructed utility hat. Materials are thick and of quality. Stitching is even and strong. However, the brim is too wide for my liking. Since I already have a Summer Packer for summer, I was looking for a Fall/Spring hat (Tin hats being water resistant so less breathable). I don’t expect to need such a wide brim without the Summer sun. So I’m basically sending back to replace with a Tin Packer for cooler seasons. Be aware that sizing on this model is larger than on the Packer model. My large noggin’ fits in an XXL Packer, but the XXL Tin Bush hat was crazy-large, even with hat reducer strips. An important thing to remember is that Filson hats shrink a bit over the years after exposure to the elements (my old Summer Packer XL fit perfectly for a few years but is now too tight, which is why I replaced with a new Summer Packer XXL with hat reducer strips, expecting to remove them after a few years).
This is a great hat, great materials and workmanship. I ordered a size larger and I was able to adjust to my individual needs.
I have been looking for a quality hat like this one to give a bit more protection from the sun and this one gives the perfect amount of shade. Fit as expected.
The Filson Ton Bush Hat is comfortable and their sizing chart is accurate. It’s made of a durable fabric. I’m not sure it needs the chin strap, but that can be removed.
Very comfortable hat, pay attention to the sizing guide on the main Filson site as it provides a lot of measuring tips. I went exactly with the sizing and I'm happy with the decision!
