  a hat for all seaons

  I’ve worn packer hats for decades. I like the less structured look, like they’ve been lived in forever. After 30 years, I made the excuse my battered LL Bean packer was not repairable and that I should immediately purchase a Filson packer I’ve always wanted. The Filson has denser fabric and a stiffer brim. It’s infinitely more stylish and I imagine myself owning property, driving a shooting brake and wearing breeks with Wellies. Well, back on the planet Earth I wear Wellies; in fact I have 6 pairs for various excuses but I do live in a rain forest. The Filson packer hat is de rigueur for an outdoor lifestyle. I think it’s going to outlive me.

  Filson Packer Hat

  Tried the size medium which is too small for me. The hat looks and feels great and should prevent rain getting past collared jackets. However size large is missing and has not been available for quite some time and no prediction when it will be back in inventory.

  Deuxième chapeau Filson Packer

  Tellement satisfait par le premier ( tan ) que j’ai acheté un second chapeau ( vert ). Tissu robuste, très peu extensible, d’où l’importance de choisir la bonne taille… les vêtements Filson sont habituellement d’une conception plus grande que celle des autres marques, mais le guide des tailles pour le chapeau Packer est juste. J’ai pris un médium et je porte du 57 cm : le fit est bon.

  My alternative to a rain hood.

  I got this as an alternative to wearing a hood in the rain. The hood doesn't extend far enough to keep rain off my glasses. This is where the packer Hat comes in. Now when it rains, my glasses stay dry and as an added bonus, I have peripheral vision. (I don't with the hood). Water beads off the hat so it does what I intended. The only downside is my head gets sweaty as this hat is unlined. Other than that, I fully recommend!

  Very much like this hat Measured my head, followed size guide and it fit nicely Wore this out for a walk in the rain, let me tell you. It did its job really well. Probably buy this hat

  Très bon chapeau, confortable, qui protège bien du soleil et résiste bien à la pluie. Seul bémol ventilation plus ou moins efficiente!
