  Classic Warmth

  Great coat! I also own the Morris Duffel and two vintage 1960’s Gloverall duffels which belonged to my parents, both being too small for me. The differences? The vintage Gloveralls seem to have slightly finer and heavier wool. My XL Morris fits much slimmer and tighter especially through the shoulders, The Monty also XL is much more roomy and provides great arm extension. The wool on the Monty seems a bit “fluffier” if that is a thing. The Morris is a bit more polished and formal. For everyday wear the Monty is my goto , a bit more rustic, but that suits my style! As far as warmth goes, they are unbeatable. This cold snap is allowing me to test out all of my Altitude jacket purchases. In this cold all I need under my Monty is a light puffer or a substantial sweater and a scarf or neck warmer, and I am toast warm. The leg straps are a nice touch as well. Highly recommended.

  The cloth is cozy and generous. I ordered a size lower than my normal and it’s an ideal fit. Impressively fast delivery. I had not known of Altitude before finding via a Google search for duffle coats and I’m very glad I did.

  Montgomery Duffle Coat

  I had one of these coats 30+ years ago. It had leather fastenings and it lasted forever. I just outgrew it. A couple of years ago I bought a new one. A great coat but this time the fastenings were made out of jute rather than leather. After about two years the jute simply wore away. I complained, and to be fair your company sent it back to the manufacturer in England for repair at a cost to me of about $80. 00 for shipping. It came back to me with the jute rope fastenings repaired. Great. But I have just noticed today that after another winter's wear (and it's not the only coat I own so it's not being worn all the time) the jute fastenings are about to wear through again. I love the coat enough that I will try to get it repaired again but really this is insane. I gave a rating of one star because giving it a zero wasn't an available option.

  Excellently constructed coat with one

  Excellently constructed coat with one annoyance. This coat, much like other Gloverall duffle coats, features a throat latch which you can button down to cover your throat. Unfortunately, it can’t be stowed away when not in use and just hangs. It also does a very poor job of covering your neck. The coat is otherwise spectacular.

  Gloverall style, quality and fit are Impeccable!

  The Gloverall Duffle coat (size small) that we purchased fits (still loose enough for a thick sweater underneath) my husband perfectly as duffle should, he has slightly longer arm length than the average and he is 178cm tall and 74kg).The material is heavy wool but not overly course or rough and the stitching are impeccable. He was able to wear it with a cashmere sweater underneath and some casual joggers in -20 degree Celsius weather without any issues. Shipping was prompt and pricing was the lowest in all of North America for this Gloverall jacket at Altitude.

  Just what I expected

  The duffle coat is exactly as I had hoped it would be.It fits well, (I ordered an extra large) and it’s roomy, but that’s how I like it. It’s plenty warm for Montreal winters. I’m also satisfied with the quality.
