Works well as a back, front or sling bag. I use it mostly as a front bag to get at things quickly (phone, pen, notebook, wallet, glasses) when doing field work or hiking with a backpack. I like that the zippers on at the tops of the pockets so things are easy to reach yet don't fall out. There aren't any pockets within the 3 pockets but there is a key lanyard.
