  Backcountry pack

  12/09/21

Bought this for my partner going backcountry skiing. It’s the perfect size for an overnight winter trip with enough space for all the warmer kit.

  Well designed!

Such an upgrade from the 32L! With the addition of a clamshell, you can actually carry rope with this too.

  GREAT Ski Touring/Boarding/Snowshoeing Pack

  11/12/20

The Gregory Targhee 45L has the extra space needed to carry the clothing, gear, food/stove, Bivy, Sleeping gear and misc. items to manage multi days, hut trips or just getting out for day trips. The pack carries very comfortably and handles the weight of skis, snowboards and snowshoes very well. It carries skis diagonally on the front or on the sides via the the bottom ski loop holder and pack compression straps as an A-frame setup or just vertically on the sides via the bottom ski loop holder and the pack compression straps. The pack also has built-in straps to Carry a Snowboard or Snowshoes. The straps can be tucked away and hidden when not in use. The pack has a Helmet holder and it also gets tucked away and hidden when not in use. The pack has full Zippered access on the back panel so you can get at everything in your pack without digging in from the top and pulling everything out just to find something at the bottom. Everything is in full sight and is easily accessible. You can easily access pack contents from the zippered back panel or from the 'Brain' lid top access area of the pack even with skis/snowboard/snowshoes attached to the pack. The pack has a top 'Brain' lid that offers full access and packing from the top like any rucksack/regular pack. The 'Brain' top lid has zippered storage to store goggles, headlamp, keys etc. The Front of pack has a zippered pouch for easy access to your Avalanche/Safety gear. The hip belt of the pack has a nice sized zippered pouch that easily handles some snacks, lip-balm, sunscreen. etc. The pack has a water bladder holder/sleeve inside the pack and also has an insulated bladder hose zippered pouch on the shoulder strap to help keep the hose/bite valve from freezing. Keeps the hose out of the way when not in use. I use for all my fall thru spring guiding and search and rescue missions. The pack is a real workhorse in the backcountry. It is my Goto pack for my personal mixed Recreational trips as well. It gets a lot of use and really stands up well. The pack handles lots of volume when you need it and the pack Carries well even when it is nearly empty as the compression straps cinch the pack to keep it sleek and streamlined. The pack frame Carries skis and Snowboard/Snowshoes even when pack is empty. The pack is easy to ski with and the extra volume compared to smaller packs is not noticeable at all. I am very Impressed with how the pack feels when when skiing or snowshoeing whether its nearly empty or full and the pack is designed very well to not interfere with you when you are active on the trail, on the up-hill skinning or while skiing. A well made versatile backcountry pack that carries whatever you need on all your outdoor trips.

  Good Solid Construction

  07/22/20

Haven't had a chance to test the pack out yet as it is summer. The materials feel strong though and it's well built. Lots of room to fit anything you will need in the back country and it fits my skis well. Looking forward to using it come winter!

  Great product

  06/25/20

This is the most technical backpack I have ever seen. The rigid foam panel on the back distributes weight without a frame. There's room for a water bladder, a lined holder for the water tube, ski holders, separate goggle compartment. Everything you could ask for. Delivery for Altitude was surprisingly fast (next day service even during COVID shipment delays).
