  flexible boots

  boots fit well and the seal at the calf seems decent because they are made for paddling they are quite soft and flexible and do not stand up on their own I like that they are soft and flexible but I will have to see how long they last tread on the bottom is ok something like diving booties good overall

  Light, Flexible, and Spacious

  I didn't measure them, but I'm pretty sure that this boot and the NRS Boundary boot of the same size are the same length along the sole. However, this boot has much more interior volume. Some combination of a wider and/or thicker foot, extra socks, and/or insoles is possible. For the portage trail, the rubber seems up to the job of protecting the ankle, sole, and toes; the tread seems likely to provide good traction. Note that I only tried them on in my house. The thinner neoprene makes these boots much more packable, should the conditions allow you to move to lighter footwear during your trip. It concerns me that the ankle strap fastens via hook-and-loop, but it is doing a good job for now, to keep my foot-and-thick-sock-and-insole-combination moving as one with the boot. Closer to the knee, the boot seems to secure just as well, but more easily, to the calf as compared to the NRS boot.

  Perfect Paddling Footwear

  These Level Six boots keep your feet dry and warm when entering or leaving your boat in shallow water or at the dock. They are great for an all day paddle. The boots go up to just below the knee so deeper water is not a problem. Altitude Sports pricing is very attractive when compared to other brands, a real value. I’m 5’8” and 145 pounds, I bought a larger size (9) based on reviews, my true size (8) would have been a better choice.

  What I expected

  The sole and structure around the heel and side of foot is fairly stiff, which is good. I like the high cuff and I appreciate the 3mm neoprene as opposed to 5 for packability and because I like to stay cool. I will have to wear socks to fill all the volume in the boot, would have been ideal to have the ability to tighten over the top of the foot. Overall what I expected and will be good for loading the boat in amongst the rocks and barnacles or for cool days.
