  Comfortable lightweight boots for moderately cold temperatures and driving

  I bought these boots because they are relatively compact for their temperature rating. I drive a Subaru Impreza with standard transmission that has small pedals that are close together. A traditional winter boot like a Sorel is too bulky and i tend to press two pedals at once! So, I wear these pretty much every day in the winter in Ottawa between December and March. They aren't that warm below about -10C and although they are sold as "hiking boots" I don't hike in them or use them for any technical winter sports. Since I wear them every day, they tend to last only 2-3 years and I'm now on my third pair. The stitching and fabric of the heel break down over time, also with my last pair the top lace hooks bend and break off if you aren't careful. However, the latest pair seem to have stronger hooks, so this my not be a problem going forward. If you wore them for for winter hiking or snowshoeing, I'd expect them to last only one season. A bit pricey, but I tend to buy a spare pair at the end of the season when they go on sale. I'll keep buying them as long as they keep making them. . .

  Mon conjoint avait besoin d’une nouvelle paire de bottes Merrell. Il aime bien ce nouveau modèle qui est un peu plus haut. Elles sont confortables, chaudes, parfaites pour la randonnée hivernale.

  C’est n’est pas ma première paire de bottes Merrel mais je trouve que la qualité est moins bonne . La taille est plus petite . Bonne semelle.

  The boots while they do look of quality the right boot felt stiffer in the shaft part of the boot and didn’t fit right for my feet. I would size up a half size as well as my pair felt short and a tight toe box for my more square shaped foot/toes. So I returned them.

  Warm boots

  This is my second pair. I used the first one until it fell apart. I do a lot of winter hiking, and this one keeps my feet warm.
