    Great Torrentshell alternative

I purchased a size Small Threshold jacket as a replacement for my size Small Patagonia Torrentshell which had become too tight at the waist after a weight gain (I tried a Medium which was way too big everywhere). While I haven't worn it in a downpour yet, the fabric and features seem to compare favorably to the Torrentshell.

    Fits nicely and customizable

I have not had a chance to use it in actual rain but the reason I purchased this is because of customization it gives and being able to pack it in itself.

    Ideal light weight rain jacket

Love the Bolt colour! Brilliant design stuffs into its hand pocket with internal carabiner clip loop. Perfect size and is waterproof and breathable. Great wind jacket has dual low hem adjusters to seal in warmth and keep me cozy on those strong wind days. I highly recommend this jacket!

    Dis not disappoint so far

I first got the outdoor research stratoburst. It was a pain. It could not have been less waterproof. I tried two different items and also washed it with waterproof recovery and did not work. I returned it and continue my search. Thank got I found this jacket. I was between the Patagonia torrentshell and the mountain hardware threshold. I tried the Patagonia at a stire but it was extremely plasticky. Noisy and stiff. I am very glad a went for the threshold. It os right in the middle, not auper soft but wih a nice texture. Not noisy but did not compromise waterproofing. I spemt one full day in Barcelona with moderate rain and did not disappoint. Noted that I have only used it once in rainy conditions. Zippers are great, adjusting cord handy. I will update the review if something changes. So far, qt this price point, I am satisfied with this jacket. Size fits well, I am 5 10, 175 cm, medium build and purchase size M. It is roomy but I purchased with layering in mind (medium ro height weight fleece sweater). If you are in a hot country and don't need to layer, go for the small if you are my size. Color is yellow, great tone, not bright but not dull. Build seems of good quality. I hope I can rock it for 5-10 years. Second purchase of rhis brand (another was a fleece sweater) and I am becoming a fan.

    Awesome jacket!

This rain jacket is so good! It wind proof, waterproof, keeps me dry when it pouring rain outside. I love the zipper under the arms as well, since I run on the hotter side, it gives me some aeration. I highly recommend it. Plus it's easy to carry it in my smaller bags because you can fold the jacket and compress it enough that it doesn't take too much space.

    Best rain jacket ever!

When the 2. 5L jacket just won’t cut it, the 3l Threshold from Mountain Hardwear comes to the rescue. Light enough to pack away into itself but just heavy enough to protect from a heavy downpour and, the large hood with sizing toggle protects everything from a ball cap to a biking helmet. Great jacket from a great brand for a great price!

Not too slim, not too baggy

True to size, good fit that allows for layering underneath the jacket. The best price on a 3 layer jacket I've been able to find. No idea if it'll last, or if it is less durable than its competitors.
