We purchased many pack to find the perfect backcountry. This pack is amazingly configured for bakccountry if you are around 5"8 or a long torso. Orthovox bags are not easy to fit with all those models, but the details and the pocket organization is so well done. The back zipper is such a must. The sizing is the trickiest part.
The backpack has a perfect size, very practical/well designed pockets and extremely confortable to carry on. Great for backcountry skiing but also for hiking and travelling.
Awesome backpack, light, has place for everything and much more comfortable than the Mammut one.
The Haute Route 40 is a versatile pack that is well made and durable. At 40 Liters, it can easily hold your rescue tools, helmet, clothing and other items needed for your ski tour.

J'ai utilisé ce sac à dos pour de la randonnée alpine. Il est pratique et il y a assez d'espace pour tout ce dont on aurait besoin. Je le recommande fortement.
Once you locate the bundle of extra straps in the front pocket, the way it all comes together is ingenious. Well done Ortovox!!! My only quibble is that I wish the zipper on the back panel was bigger.
