  The mittens are made of a decent quality material that in theory would make them pretty warm however the flawed design in the way flaps are cut doesn't allow for enough overlap to keep the cold air off your thumbs. Additionally there are magnets that hold the flaps open when the gloves to convert to be fingerless, this is a great idea in theory but the magnets are far too strong and instead makes any task where your hands are near each other a challenge because the mitts just constantly magnetize to each other. Forget the convenience of switching to fingerless gloves to quickly tie a dog bag because your fingers will get cold while you fight with the magnets.

  Perfect for dog walking!

  I have been looking everywhere for non-bulky gloves that still block the wind and convert into fingerless gloves even on the thumb. This is the only one I have found and they’re great! Great for easy treat bag access! True to size.

  A very well made set of gloves that are super soft and warm. It does take a few wears for them to shape to your hands but great overall. Using magnets instead of velcro is a good touch and ensures longevity. Thumb calorie could be a little former but not a deal breaker

  The perfect mittens!

  As a first time mom, I was looking for a pair of convertible mittens that allows use of fingers when I’m with our baby. The design of these mitts are perfect, the fabric has really held up especially in our recent -12C, windchill -21C weather! The magnetic buttons are a smart solution opposed to Velcro or snap buttons. Would recommend!

  Not One of OR's Best Efforts

  On paper this seems to tick all the right boxes with Polartech Windbloc 3L, magnetic closures and OR's legendary warranty. However, this product has too many misses: 1. Runs small even though I followed the sizing guidelines when ordering, 2. The warmth is definitely lacking in these hybrid mitts as they needed Little Hotties to be passable down to -10c, and 3. The fit of the foldover mitt was very tight over the fingerless part (made worse by the lack of pliability of the palm fabric). We own a couple of other varieties of foldover mitts from other manufacturers and they are both warmer than these mitts even though neither have Windbloc or equivalent just a warmer lining. Overall, I can't recommend these mitts.
