I absolutely love this jacket! It keeps toasty warm while I do recess duty at the school where I work in Sudbury. That’s why I bought it. Plus, there was an issue with the price and the fantastic staff at Altitude took care of me with complete courtesy and professionalism. The only thing I don’t like is the hood. I don’t like hoods in general. But I’m waiting for that bitterly cold day where I’ll need to use it. 🙂
This is a pretty warm jacket. It can comfortably handle -10C with a t-shirt underneath. With a sweater it's probably good for -25 max but you're really pushing it's limits. This jacket is pretty roomy so you can wear a sweater underneath if you want. In terms of waterproofness, I wore it once in really wet snow condition I felt damp on the outside but I don't believe it soaked into the down insulation. The only issues(minor) I have with the jacket is the interior pocket. It goes from almost mid jacket to the bottom of the jacket, in other words it's quite deep. You want to take anything out you have to really dig in. Would be nice to have an interior chest pocket. Second issue I have are the zippers. The main zipper is not the smoothest to lock on and the teeth of the pocket zippers sometimes catch on to the cuffs when you put your hands in the pockets. The issues are minor, overall I would recommend the jacket.
J’avais commandé ce manteau et un Rab pour comparaison. La Rab est définitivement plus ajusté, confortable et mieux fait. Celui de OR était trop ample, et le capuchon beaucoup trop grand pour le porter sans casque. Par ailleurs le Rab me semblait plus chaud et confortable.
This jacket is cozy warm and as light as a feather. The hood provides excellent protection. I’m 5’8”, 150 pounds and the small fits well and doesn’t look bulky but I can still wear a layer underneath in very cold weather.
I bought this jacket as a second piece to go over my other puffy, specifically to stay warm when stationary while winter camping in the backcountry. The jacket was warmer than other jackets I tried for this purpose (Rab Neutrino, Rab Positron Pro, Rab Infinity), and was comfortable to wear. It appears oversized for the medium I bought as a standalone piece, but perfect to go over my other puffy (black diamond approach down hoody). My temperature rating of -25 and colder would be when combined with layers as I use it (merino base hoody, poly mid hoody, black diamond approach puffy, super alpine down parka). I would certainly use it as a standalone piece for super cold days in the city where layering an extra down jacket would be inconvenient, but I think it functions best as an overjacket as I mentioned before.
Coat is ideal for -25 and colder weather. It is light but warm and the hood is great for those cold conditions.
This jacket was exactly what I was looking for! It does well in -15 weather, but it feels nice to wear. Just note that it does run large, but that’s for layering purposes, and I’m more of a technical gear person than a fashion person. If you’re looking for something with a more athletic fit, this is probably not the right jacket for you.

I've struggled with parkas over the years, where the hood has often been an uncomfortable fit, and this one fits perfectly with great coverage, but not impacting my overall vision. Highly recommend.
important to read the description carefully, the coat is designed to be worn over a coat in alpine conditions. The Small size fits well over the Small coat of the same brand
