Fits on the larger size. I am around 140lbs 5'2 and normally wear a medium in hoodies etc for a comfortable fit. I sized to a M in this jacket to ensure it wasn't too snug but it was quite large and the sleeves quite long. I would order a small in the future. The fabric is comfortable and not overly "crunchy" like cheaper rain jackets.
Bought this jacket for a trip to rainy Europe. The fabric was less noisy and starchy over the Torrentshell jacket. I have a bit broader shoulders and long arms & am 5’5” and 135 lbs and the MEDIUM fit me great. I can still wear a thick sweater underneath. I would’ve fit a small but wanted to add layers underneath. I’m not sure why it’s about $100 more than the Torrentshell but if you’re on a budget and ok with fabric I’m sure Torrentshell would work just as well. I’m not sure about the wind-proofness of the jacket just yet but I haven’t been sweating in it - magical. The hood is generous (not flattering) but will definitely keep the rain off my face and hopefully my glasses too. Love Patagonia products. They stand by their quality products.
Overall very impressed with this jacket and the fact that they use recycled fish netting to make it, the only thing I dislike is the hood is bigger than I’d like.
After reading many reviews of different rain jackets, I chose the Granite Crest rain jacket, and I’m very pleased with my choice. On the advice of many reviewers, I sized up one size and I’m glad I did. As many reviewers indicated, the Granite Crest does not have much extra room around the hips, and had I chosen my regular Medium, this would not have fit me. I have just a little bit of room around the hips with the size Large. Otherwise, this is an excellent jacket, lightweight, nice pockets and underarm zips for ventilation. The adjustable hood is absolutely wonderful, it keeps your hood fitted snugly to your head even in high winds. As for how resistant it is to the rain, I’ve only been in light rains so far and it has kept me dry - it’s also very breathable. I’m very happy with this purchase.
Je l’ai retourné car trop petit au niveau des hanches, malgré que j’avais suivi la charte de grandeur. J’ai des fortes hanches et j’aurais dû prendre 1 grandeur de plus. Sinon, la coupe était très belle, il était cintré et il faisait bien au niveau de la taille et de la poitrine. Coupe avantageuse pour une femme. Je l’ai retourné mais je songe à refaire une commande en prenant une taille plus grand.
Manteau parfait pour le printemps, l'été et l'automne. Bonne qualité et grandeur parfaite.
Very useful for any activities under the rain or to protect against the wind, I really like my new jacket. The quality is there, no doubt about it.
I was debating between this and the torrentshell but very glad I did this one because it’s longer at the back and has the front pocket. Kept me completely dry during torrential downpour in the mountains and by waterfalls.
Lightweight, mostly water proof and breathable . This jacket is much more well fitted than the torrent shell.
This is an exceptionally constructed jacket, perfect for wet conditions without sweltering inside the jacket. It actually is waterproof and breathes! The fit is very generous, I normally wear a medium but I can wear a sweater in this size small jacket without feeling constrained, and the sleeve length is still perfect. I love how you can cinch everything and stay warm and dry. Ideal for hiking trips or days spent outside in wet or damp weather conditions.
