    Fantastic

Very warm. Well built. Roomy enough to add an underlayer.

    Very comfortable and lightweight

I’ve been really impressed with the RAB Xenair Alpine jacket. It’s lightweight yet surprisingly warm, making it perfect as a standalone piece or as part of a layering system. I’ve used it a lot for hiking on cold spring and fall mornings, and it performs beautifully. The durable water-repellent (DWR) coating does a great job of repelling light rain, but for heavier downpours, I’d recommend pairing it with a breathable waterproof shell. The fit is true to size. At 5'8", the sleeve length is perfect. The cuffs, with their combination of elastic and Velcro, feel comfortable and secure without being restrictive. Overall, it’s a versatile, well-designed jacket that I’d confidently recommend.

    Nice jacket

Quite a bit warmer than my atom. Nice big pockets great for colder days. Feels premium

    Very good jacket

Very good quality and fit. The extra length is very useful. Quite warm. I wore it at -10 C and was comfortable. Very light and packable.

    Nice Coat, Weird Fit

Nice coat if you're tall and lean. Very long and slim cut. I'm 5'11", 185 lbs and the medium was too tight and too long on me. Large would of been like a dress. Had to return. Real nice material and seemed warm though for the right fit.

Excellent all-purpose insulated jacket from Rab

I bought the previous version of the Rab Xenair Alpine jacket a couple of years ago, and found I used it all the time -- the best all-purpose jacket I'd ever had: light, warm, and durable. The new model is similar and very well designed, with a couple of upgrades: an extra exterior chest pocket, and new hook-and-loop closures on the sleeves. This is an outstanding mid-weight jacket for three-season use. (The Arcteryx Atom is lighter and less well insulated. ) Add a shell and it is also great in winter. Rab's build quality is great, and price is very reasonable.

Like wearing a fitted sleeping bag

Title says it all but, in a good way. Jacket is light, very warm, and fairly windproof. The number of pockets are top notch with 4 easily accessible ones: 2 chest and 2 pocket. The cuff design is great, adjustable and unobtrusive. The fit allows for plenty of layering underneath. Be aware that DWR in the outer material is virtually nonexistent so it will get wet easily. This jacket retails for considerably less than a comparable Atom SV with negligible compromises.
