Good value but not a great Fat Bike solution!
I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality and hope it holds up against the winter weather here in Ontario. I needed a rack that also accommodates Fat Bikes and their large tires. While this is marketed as such, the narrow rail and extended wheel straps unfortunately don’t quite meet the mark. It feels like this was an engineering afterthought vs. purposeful design. While it is functional, it is a bit awkward to secure the wheel straps. I removed the front wheel straps to make it easier and think it is a bit redundant anyway. I’ve owned the Thule Upride which is a similar design but has a wider rear wheel fat bike adapter with a longer strap that functions perfectly. It is significantly more expensive and rusted out after 9 years so I’m going to see how this one lasts and if it lasts ~10yrs I’ll consider it a win!
