If you’re looking for a boot that offers excellent technical features and outstanding durability, this is the one. It’s built to handle demanding conditions and keep up with your adventures.
This is my third pair of Salomons, and they never disappoint. They are incredibly durable and built to last forever. I recently submerged them in a creek during a hike, and not a single drop of water got inside. I am super impressed with the waterproof performance so far. Highly recommend the X Ultra 5 Mid GTX if you need a dependable mid-boot for the trails!
These fit perfectly and are super comfortable.
Good fit, support and comfort. Fits true to size. Looks good.
Not the most advanced or technical boot. Lacing system leaves a lot to be desired. Seems like it’s missing a couple eyelets for adequate tensioning and securing. Otherwise, it seems well made. Ankle section feels a bit bulkier than the toe so it does not fit or feel like a true hiking boot, which I suppose is to be expected with this kind of design. They are very light, fit true to size and the waterproof membrane seems to work well. Thought they’d fit and feel more like a runner but they are more like a true hybrid between a hiker and a runner. Bought for a trek in Nepal. Not sure they are the ones…
Shoes were purchased as a gift, they seem to fit great and be holding up well. Nice and light considering the ruggedness of the shoe.
Elles sont très confortable et de bonne grandeur.
Seem like good replacements for my old Salomon Quest Prime GTX that have lasted me many years. The tongue seems a bit tricky to tuck in while tying initially, but will maybe get better after some use. Went a half size bigger than my previous boots, to better accommodate thick wool socks on colder days.
Have only tried them on inside once, but here are my first impressions after also owning the X Ultra 4 Mid GTX Hiking Boots (which were my all-time favourite): 1) toe material appears to be more durable 2) sole lug design seems to be more aggressive 3) tongue material is softer/spongy 4) weight feels ever so slightly heavier than Ultra 4s, but not materially different 5) design and colours aren't as nice as the 4s (though that' subjective)
