    Wide too Wide

    These look to be really great shoes. Well made and if they do what they are supposed to do they are sure to be excellent. The regular fit was too snug, so opted for the wide but it was way too wide for me. Too much volume in the fore-foot area. Sadly I had to return them.

    Great Hiking Shoe

    Changed from a XA Pro 3D V9 Gore-tex size 10 and moved to a wide 10. 5 and more of a hiking shoe than a running shoe. My feet are thanking me for that. These shoes tend to run small for me and I needed the extra breathing room and space for hiking. Going up with the XA Pros wasn't so bad, but coming back down the toe box was too tight. These seem to be a better fit, maybe because of the size differences, but seem more comfortable. Time will tell about durability. I will use them for Spring, Fall, and Summer so wanted the Gore-Tex, even though they will probably run hot for summer hikes.

    Comfortable shoes, run small

    Ordered the wide which fit well but regular fit would be too narrow, I do not have a wide foot usually.

    Perfect wide‑fit hikers with excellent stability

    I ordered the wide version of the Salomon X Ultra 5 GTX because the regular fit felt a bit narrow, and the difference is huge—the wide truly feels right for my feet. The shoe delivers the same standout stability, traction, and waterproof protection praised in expert reviews, making it great for mixed terrain and long days on the trail. It still has that snug, performance‑oriented Salomon feel, but in wide it’s finally comfortable without pressure points. Overall, a rock‑solid, confidence‑boosting hiker that fits exactly the way I hoped.

    Durables et confortables

    Great Quality, But Runs Narrow

    Excellent build quality and premium materials. The shoes feel durable, well-constructed, and the GORE-TEX works great for wet conditions. Grip and stability are also very good. One important note: even in the Wide version, they feel noticeably narrower than comparable models from Hoka or Merrell, especially in the forefoot. If you have truly wide feet, it’s better to try them on before buying. Overall, a high-quality hiking shoe!
