Making a good cup of coffee in the field

Quality is top notch. Assembly may be tricky first, but becomes easy after a few trials. Making sure you align the first 2 pieces carefully and the rest will be easy. Works great with regular basket filters with a folding shown in the pictures.

  Great Travel Dripper

  06/03/25

My wife and I are coffee snobs. When we travel we like to bring our own pour over dripper. Hotel or AirBnB coffee machines make poor coffee and they are always pretty scummy, too. We have used many techniques and find a pourover to make excellent coffee with almost no cleanup. Of course, you need to use good coffee, but that's another story. We have a sturdy plastic Melitta dripper that we've used for years. It's great once I McGivered the drip hole. However, it is very bulky and hard to pack. This SnowPeak is sturdy, well-designed and breaks down almost flat. The 3 joints are open, but for some reason coffee doesn't leak out there. I did have to find something the plug the huge bottom opening so the coffee didn't just run through too quickly. I used the metal piece that holds bubbly wine corks to the bottle, the piece under the wire. I drilled the appropriate sized hole in it, and it fits great. I also tried the other unit from SnowPeak, slightly cheaper and flimsier. I prefer this one.

A very good product for those who love drop coffee when travel/ camp. it packs small and fit regular coffee filter. Very easy to assemble. I would give 5 stars if it has a locking mechanism to lock the Snowpeak mug.
