  Small Toe Box. Warm. Waterproof.

  I never had proper winter boots, and these are my real insulated winter boots (I've always worn hiking boots with thick wool socks). My foot is 27cm, 27. 5cm with socks. I am flat footed (widest is 425mm) and I am typically 9. 5EE, 10D, 10, or 10. 5 (standard sizing). I am also flatfooted, so I need orthotics to be inserted. Typically when I buy shoes I go half size up which I did here because my specific orthotics raises the balls of my feet despite replacing the inserts, Well, there are no inserts, just the insulated piece. I think I could have gotten away with 11 and have a little more room in the toe box, but it's not too bad. Long walks is pretty cumbersome on hard surfaces, but keeps my toes warm in the cold and snow. Overall, they are terrific. Wading through snow is no problem. The laces have good friction, I can trust a single knot to keep these boots on (many hikers need the double). Beware, driving in these is not ideal, tie one tier of your anchors or tie looser to free up your ankle movement. There are some that may complain that their foot is wet despite calling this waterproof, it's sweat. It is not breathable at all, but I wasn't expecting it to.

  Men's Sorel boots for my growing boy

  The boots arrived quickly enough, and were as described. None of his other shoes or boots are an 8. 5 but he says they fit well, so they may run a little small. I often size up for winter boots anyway.

  Solid winter boot

  First impressions are five stars. I tried several winter boots of this style before going with the Sorel. They just seemed to be the best quality out of the options I tired and they definitely fit the best. They fit true to size in length but do feel a bit snug around the foot

  They fit a bit large but you can wear with wool socks. They are great for cold winter and lots of snow. Durable and sturdy as well. Easy to dry.
