Love this jacket
I'm super happy with this jacket. I have a much older Alpha jacket, which I loved/love, but the Gortex performance on this one is vastly improved. Super comfy because I stay dry all day in this jacket.

Burly super tough fabric but lightest in the pack... Solid build (in canada). A little short compared to dedicated skiing jackets but that makes it more versatile in my opinion.

After reviewing the Beta series and seeing the difference with the Alpha, I decided to go ahead and upsell myself as I was considering this jacket would last me long. Great fabric, more rigid then the beta so you will hear it more when moving. My dog jumping on me won't rip this jacket. I valued Arc'teryx over other brands because the back went lower. If you are a tall man, 6 feet and up, the last thing you want is rain dropping on your butt when it pours. All in all, I can't wait to bring it. If I decide to go Multi layer and ski with it, I'll need to find a solution to non isolated pants that go with it as there's no way I chairlift my butt on non isolated pants. Way too cold. Fit: I fit tight in the Large. 6 feet 220 pounds, so I took an XL. It's perfect if you add an under layer or a puffy jacket beneath. The cover fits a helmet but you can adjust it so it's not too big. Armpit area is wide, it's made for extreme sport that requires movement space.

Excellent jacket for nasty conditions. Fit and length are great for climbing and I also use this as a shell for skiing and snowboarding. Quality is the best I have seen in a jacket - and will easily last 10+ years. I am 185 lbs and 5'10" and the medium fits perfectly with room for winter layering.

A true all weather coat. While slim and a medium size, I had a large size that allowed for 2 layers underneath in the bitter cold. With this set up, I am invincible😀. I got a second in a medium size for summer use. My medium with a Ceridian LT hoody underneath is snug, but efficient. Overall this is a perfromance shell, not a show one for the mall.
