    King of the shells

    This one is a true KING of Shells! Made in Canada with a lot of features and made of very solid Gore Tex (top of the line). Definitely best Arcteryx technical shell.

    The Go-To Jacket in Windy Chilly Cities

    This jacket is very versatile, and I do recommend it because of its attention to detail of its functionality (where the pockets are, zippers, etc). I have the AR version, I feel this SV jacket is more suitable in chilly and windy cities (ie. Calgary/Ottawa). True to size. Quality is just top of the line backed up with Arcteryx warranty. Color of this orange is brighter than I thought it would be.

    Worth the price

    It's just the toughest shell arcteryx makes and the price reflects that. It's great for everything in the winter, the pro fabric just sheds everything off and feels like a piece of armor. Fit is large to acommendate layering and the hem isn't as short as you might think, less coverage sure but not like you have to go up a size.

    A winter tank

    The alpha sv is an absolute tank of a winter shell. If you’re looking at this jacket and it has the features you want just go for it. I do wish that the pockets were usable as chest level hand pockets but that’s not what this shell was designed for. This is a climbing focused shell and it fits the bill perfectly for it. If you’re looking for the toughest and most extreme weather protection shell this is it.
