I'm tall with a big head, 23 inches around at the forehead, and this just fits me. If your head is any bigger, this won't fit. I wish it was a little bit bigger, but I will try to wet block it to stretch it. I have to wear it straight down on my head, I usually wear hats tilted back a bit. If your head is smaller than mine, you'll be able to wear it both ways. The adjustable part is a small drawstring part on the inside so you can make it tighter. It's an elegant hat that looks great with wool coats, good for fall/spring weather. The wool is stiff and not soft, but the part that actually touches your skin has a satiny ribbon lining so your face won't get itchy.
