Dale of Norway Torridal Sweater - Men's

The Torridal sweater seamlessly blends heritage with contemporary style, featuring a striking stripe and rib effect at the neckline, cuffs, and bottom hem. Designed for a comfortable and relaxed fit, the Torridal showcases beautiful patterns concentrated in the yoke and hemline, creating a visually appealing and distinct look. Crafted from authentic Norwegian wool, the Torridal sweater is inspired by our traditional Setesdal garments, offering a modern update that honors the rich history of the iconic Lusekofta. By omitting the traditional lice pattern, Torridal takes on a fresh identity, making it a versatile piece for everyday wear.

• Long ago, Norwegian sweaters were knitted with a simple white base that was often tucked into pants, making intricate patterns at the bottom unnecessary due to the high cost of patterned knitting. The Torridal honors this tradition by keeping the classic white field at the bottom but enriching it with the original Setesdal pattern, where the crosses were historically believed to protect against evil spirits. Staying true to the original Setesdal pattern, the Torridal sweater preserves the authentic craftsmanship and timeless charm of traditional Norwegian knitting
