I purchased a size medium and I found that it was incredible large. Like other expedition style parkas, you almost have to buy a size smaller than you typically would. Even with a base layer and mid layer I found the medium huge in the arms and body. The back of the jacket hit the back of my knees! I did like the features, but found the build quality sub par compared to other HH products - typically build quality is top notch from HH.
so warm and so comforable,but it's not light,little bit heavy and bigger,but i like it,i have tried it during strong wind,this is wind proof, just snowing recently i feel so warm,it's total no problem with this one and one tshirt by the way the pocket is bigger i like it
Well, it's warm, windproof and bright orange. What could be better. Love the pockets, easy to throw on quickly and nice flexibility. I was going to get the Arctic Patrol MODULAR Parka ($1200 one), but bought that from Sportchek and it was such a pain in the ass to take off and put on because the 2 liners (which don't zip in) you have to deal with to make it warm and waterproof. This Arctic Patrol is WARMER than the $1200 version and there's no stupid liners, however this one is only water-resistant, but who cares....it doesn't rain in the winter anyway, lol. When it was spitting a bit the water beaded nicely on the surface and the jacket didn't get drenched. Great jacket -- get one!! By the way, I'm not using this in the city either, out in Northern Ontario, out in the middle of a lake where wind-chill is VERY apparent...so when I say wear in the wind, we're talking 80 km/h wind, wind-chill can be -35C or more. Fit? Hmm, well, Helly Hansen site said I should be an XL. But, I bought the Large (it was the only size for the orange one) and I'm glad I did, the large fits me perfectly ...if anything it could be a bit smaller. So, I guess if you go to the Helly Hansen site pick a size down from what they recommend? ...it also depends on what you wear as base layers. For me, everything I'm stating above, even with the 80 km/h winds I have nothing but a T-Shirt on!!! lol R
