    Mafate Trail Running Shoes

These shoes are fantastic for runners that want max comfort and cushioning but still value performance on trail runs. Despite having had plantar fasciitis recently I have been able to enjoy short runs with acceleration work without any pain! This is my second pair, and Inplan on sticking with this brand and model.

Comfortable fit but too much cushion for me

These felt good trying on but I could tell they were too cushioned for me since they had that “platform shoe” feel. Seem to have good tread though.

Lots of Spring for the Trails

These shoes have a fantastic grip, they are very cushiony and the have a plate which helps to propel you along the trails. The only drawback is that they are a lot of shoe and are a bit heavier than other trail shoes.

Super maintient! Je recommande :)

    Fabulous Purchase

These trails shoes seem wonderful so far. I’ve worn them for about an hour as a first test run, and then for about 4 hours running minimal to moderately technical trails. I noticed they loosened up after a short time, but I was too lazy to tighten them while running. Had I been running more steep downhills I would have tightened them up. Even feeling a bit loose they did not rub anywhere on my feet. I think they may be the type of shoe that you have to play around for the first several wears on how tight to tie them. Two shallow water crossings and they didn’t slip on the rocks in the water. The sole was nice and grippy. One foot got dunked but dried out pretty quick. Drainage seemed pretty decent. I didn’t walk through deeper water and total drench my feet so don’t know how well the shoes will drain when that happens. The upper seemed soft and breathable. If I have to tighten the laces using the heel lock, I could use a bit longer of a tongue. It ends pretty abruptly and the heel lock lace hole is a bit higher. That will bother me if I end up having laces sitting above the tongue. I like the thin soft tongue but some folks may prefer a more padded tongue. The leaves were falling off the trees for fall, and I didn’t slip at all on them. The lugs seemed good to dig into the ground a bit and through those slippery leaves. I usually wear a ladies 10 trails shoe and I had to size down to a 9. 5 in this model. It still has plenty of toe room and a plenty wide toe box. I have slightly narrow feet and have tons of width room. I think it’s wide enough for those with a bit wider feet as well. After 4 hours my feet still felt good. I didn’t have any rocks or roots that I felt underfoot which is fabulous. I like a lot of underfoot protection. The day before I’d run in some other new trail shoes where my feet get sore on the soles a bit. When I took these new shoes out for 4 hours with sore feet to start, I was really happy that my feet felt better and were no worse for wear. I was a bit worried about the squishy feel as I get sore achilles but I didn’t have any issues at all. Hopefully the drop and plate will give me the stability I need, along with the very soft feel of the shoe on my feet. I need a very kind shoe because my feet are terribly tender. These didn’t disappoint. The stack height is great and feels completely stable. Some people worry abont the stack height feeling too high and rolling their ankles. This stack height, although high, feels very stable. The colours available so far are great. I like trail shoes that have some fun colour. The last pair I got were a cream colour and after one muddy run they’ve never looked the same. I really like these nice vibrant colour choices. Although I’ve only had the shoes out once on the trails I think they’re going to turn out great.

    Ultra plush trail shoe

I absolutely love this shoe for trail hiking even though it's advertised as a trail running shoe. I wore these first time out on a 20km round trip hike with steep ascent and decent and my toes never felt uncomfortable. This shoe is ultra plush cushioning which was what I was looking for. The grip was great on wet slab and in terms of style, I really loved the color. Going to purchase a 2nd pair to rotate with as I live and hike in the mountains of BC.
