The Maekake Dobby is a 12.2oz dobby fabric that’s inspired by traditional maekake aprons. Back in the day, laborers and butchers wore maekake aprons as protective gear. They were typically made of tightly woven heavy-duty canvas that could protect from heat or flame or accidental stabs from sharp knives or tools. The Maekake Dobby is of the same calibre of tightly woven durability but the fabric has been rinse-washed to highlight the indigo gradient and to make it super-comfortable from the first wear. This is a beautiful clean, polished, deep, dark, rich indigo denim with tonal stitching all over. It also features a Chromexcel Cavalier Ink pull-up leather patch courtesy of Horween Leather Co, one of the oldest tanneries in the US. Bestie is a 5-pocket jean featuring a subtle barrel leg and cropped length for a modern, easy fit.
