Great waterproof multi-activity travel bag, but not for everyone

Pros: - waterproof - zipper position - can be easily repaired and customized/modified eg by using rubber cement to glue pockets / etc in - despite first impressions, the harness is comfortable and can support a good amount of weight - easy access to everything in your bag - closes easily, external straps and side pockets work well Cons: - It’s waterproof; any moisture in it is going to stay in it - so opening the bag in a downpour in the summer will mean that the humidity level in the bag will rise until you air everything out. I put a 250 gram silica pouch in one of the interior pockets to keep things dry. - It doesn’t hold computers very well; either the computer has to sit at the outside of the back (ie farthest away from your back when you’re wearing the bag), which ends up putting it in the position of least protection, or you end up having to put all your stuff into your bag first and then put your computer last. The protection issue is partially mitigated by using a cushioning computer sleeve, but packing a combination of flat computer/clothes like objects and non-flat objects like radios, camera lenses, tripods, chargers, etc is more difficult than with a more traditional bag setup; it’s basically a large duffel bag. Mitigation is possible by customizing the interior with pockets, packing cubes, or other organizing techniques, but after a few months I still don’t have it down.

    Great waterpoof pack

You can always use a standard pack with a raincover, but if you've hiked enough, you know that water will always find its way in. This pack is absolutly waterproof, you can basically submerge it in water and your stuff will stay dry. Bombproof construction like all Ortlieb stuff. Highly adjustable so you will be able to find the perfect fit. It has room for air citculation in the back so your back will stay relatively dry, or at least less sweaty than many other pacjs. It's expensive, but it is quality that will take some abuse and last a long time. This ia highly specialized pack, and as such it has some drawbacks: it is heavier than most hiking packs. At 1.45 kg it is not super heavy, but you can find many daypacks in the 1kg range. However, with this pack, no need for a raincover or dry bags inside the pack. But for ultralight hikers, this is a heavy pack. Closure system: when fully open, it is like a duffle bag with nice zipped small compartments. Pretty cool when traveling. This is my goto pack for short airplane of train trips. However, for hiking, access to the bag is more complicated than all of the other packs I have used. You have to pretty much open the zipper its full length if you need something at the bottom. You have good size soft pockets on each side and a good belt pocket to mitigate this issue. For a day hike in good weather, this is not the pack I will use. In bad weather this is my go to pack. I have not yet used it for paddleboarding, but depending on the trip, this pack can be a good option compared to using a drybag, espacially if you have to bushwack some distance (this pack in the front and the paddle board on your back). Overall, very happy with my purchase.

    Atrack pack 35

Cool new way to access your gear. Keeps things organized. Access of a duffel and convenience of a waterproof backpack. Very adjustable. We went with the larger version to fit everything we wanted for a teenagers backpack who rides to school and keeps laptop etc safe and dry. Tech, Books, change of clothes, lunch, towel and extra shoes all fit no problem

    Water proof!!!

Fits well and is water proof. Love how it opens like a duffel bag. Time will tell if it’s a comfortable fit.
