  Excellent for the water

  These are great shorts for in and out of the water and I really like them for canoe tripping where there are frequent swims or wading. They are durable and well made and the liner is nice too. I typically go for slim fit outdoor clothing, but the relaxed fit works well (there is no stretch to the material and it would not allow enough mobility otherwise). Sizing seems true to size.

  Comfortable, functional summertime shorts

  I was looking for shorts that I could wear in and out of the water. . . the Patagonia baggies were just what I was looking for. The comfort is superb, the quality is excellent and they can be worn comfortably all day long as shorts or swim trunks. I love the pockets and the secure rear pocket if you have anything you need to keep safe while in the water. While they cost a bit more, I feel the price was worth it for the quality.
