Really liked this water bag. I had a different one before that tasted horrible. This one tasted just a little in the beginning but after a good rinse it was really good.
Simple and easy to use bladder. Can keep it clean easily and never had any leaks with this model. Great hiking bladder.
Nice size and works well with my water filter, threaded port helps a lot.
I bought this for a trip I am making to the Grand Canyon. This is my second platypus reservoir my previous one I used for 14 years. The materials and design are very reliable and always perform perfectly, as described.
J’ai acheté ce réservoir un peu plus gros que celui que je possédais, je l’utilise un vélo de montagne. je sais qu’il va me durer très longtemps puisque j’ai mon petit 2.5L depuis plus de 5 ans
They have improved the plastic; more flexible and no taste!
Love Platypus bladders! Strong reliable material, lightweight, great water flow. Got the 3L for long hikes. Absolutely recommend it.
We bought a pair of these for long hikes. On our first day hike using these, one of them split open on the side. Looking closely at them, you could see that the seam was much thinner on one side than the other; a manufacturing misalignment defect. It was thin enough that from normal use it split open. I was able to repair it enough using a lighter and melting the seam back together (had to do that twice during the trip) so all was not lost, but it's no fun having your backpack fill with water... We ordered replacements through here and the ones we received seemed much better at the seams, so we're happy to try it again. When well manufactured, these reservoirs are amazing. The tube is stiff so it won't pinch/kink easily, the bite valve is very well made and doesn't leak, the bag material is tough and doesn't impart any plastic/rubber taste at all. The strap clip is kind of finnicky but once you get it sorted out it works well. Note that it doesn't come with a standard cap which is useful to buy separately if you want to use it to carry water. The Hoser comes in 4 sizes, but the size/weight in use is obviously just the water, so I'd recommend getting the largest size you can afford for maximum flexibility and convenience.
