Great jacket, near perfect, but...
I'm generally very happy with the jacket. It has a nice minimalist, sleek urban look and I really dig the color. Standard Arc'teryx quality build and features such as the elastic wrist cuffs which seal off the possibility of cold air running up the sleeves are a nice touch. At 6'2", 200LBS, the large fits me comfortably with some additional room for layering (although, I doubt you'll need it unless you happen to live in Yakutsk). I tried the medium and it was very snug with no room for layering and the loss of some of the length that the large covers generously. I generally run warmer than most humans and find that unless it's -5 or lower, this coat ran way too hot, even with nothing but a t-shirt on underneath. The Gore-tex can be noisy, but not really to the point of irritation especially given ambient noise/headphones in most urban environments. The hood is a little weak. It could have used a little more insulation, not made detachable (which is pointless under the extreme cold for which this jacket appears to be suited) and have the hood built into the front of the jacket (think Beta LT vs Beta AR). If you're dealing with conditions warmer than -5, I would suggest the Atom AR (which I also own and is excellent) at a fraction of the cost and which can be layered for colder conditions (but which, I will admit, doesn't look as cool).
