This jacket seems very well put together, but it is from BD so of course. . . The materials seem top notch (to me). The zippers are strong. I first tried a Columbia shell. It fit on the shoulders/back, but was too long and the belly section was too ample. This jacket fits perfectly. I don't want to exaggerate: this jacket would accommodate something more than a totally flat belly. But it is designed for someone who is active.
So finally got to use this for skiing here in BC over the Christmas break. Had worn it walking the dog a few times in pouring rain, worked great for that obviously. For skiing this thing is fantastic, lots of pockets, hood that fits over the helmet. It's been warmer here so far this season so skiing was below freezing at the top but 1-2 degrees at the base. The front zipper is easy to open and close with gloves and so are the pit zips. I am not a perfect skier and therefore got to test the toughness of this jacket as I narrowly missed a turn and got to test it's branch impact as I slid into a tree well. I thought for sure I had ripped it in multiples spots, nope, I did however put a couple of scrapes on it that won't come off but that is fine. As for fit I am a hair under 6 feet and about 200lbs (should be closer to 185), anyways I think that size large is perfect for me and wouldn't want a medium even though it might fit. I like this jacket so much I just bought my daughter the insulated version.

I'm 5'7" and 160 lbs and the small fits well but it is definitely roomy. It's big enough to put a puffy jacket underneath. It's a very high quality jacket and I own the bib pants as well. I was never really into Black Diamond as a brand but I think they've recently made some very high quality stuff. I would actually say it's on par with Arctery'x. This jacket is super stretchy and I use it to go backcountry skiing.

Comme tous les produits BD, ce manteau est de très bonne qualité, très solide, super bien fait, et à acheter les yeux fermés. Beaucoup de rangement. Le tissu est de très bonne qualité et extensible (dans 4 directions). Le manteau est sobre, sans de couleur superflu. Excellent rapport qualité-prix. Très bonne coquille pour le ski, mais aussi pour toutes sortes de sports d'hiver. La membrane BD-Dry est super efficace. Le manteau coupe bien le vent, et repousse super bien l'eau. Il y a une jupe (guêtre) amovible. Le manteau est quand même fait long. La seule chose à faire attention est que la coupe est quand même ajustée (surtout au niveau des hanches), ce qui laisse moins de place à la couche intermédiaire.
Bon manteau pour une multitude de sports à l’extérieur.
Very nice jacket. Tailored fit. Snug if you wear a thick midlayer.
This coat is big for its size. I normally wear a medium but it was way to bulky/baggy and had to return it the first time. The small fits way better.
Overall the jacket fits great, looks great, and feels great. The waterproofing is amazing, and the stretch fabric allows for easy layering underneath. One con is the front and underarm zippers get stuck easily.
