good outer layer!
I was a bit hesitant about getting a cotton outer shell but this is a a great buy. It breathes better than a gore tex shell and I am also much less worried about nicking/tearing it by brushing against branches and/or picking up items like wood etc. The item fits pretty generously, which allows for layering. I could have easily gone for a medium, which overall fit me well, and is my normal size. However, I got the large, which is a bit big in the back, but gives me great range of motion in the shoulders when combined with a merino base layer, and a down jacket/sweater. This layering combination is also surprisingly warm and I'm pretty confident using it in cold low-land conditions; I might even try it for a dry ski day as well. My only complaint is the ventilation double zip on the right side. I wish it were a bit bigger with a larger pull tab. It can get tad tricky pulling it down when raised to the upper rib area.
