    Juste parfait

    Helium II Jacket

The plus: Nice material, great colour and true to size. The negative: It has a very cheap zipper, which is a bummer. I can see that it will not last long in that regard.

    Perfect Jacket

I got this jacket mainly to use as a rain shell when running, but it saved me when back country camping! My boyfriend (who has the men's Helium II jacket) and I got caught in a surprise snowstorm on a three day mountain hike and this jacket was exactly what we needed. It kept the snow and the wind out, and as we made our way down the mountain and the snow turned to rain, it kept that out too. It packs up small, which was perfect for hiking and did everything it needed to do on that hike. It would be nice if it was a little longer, but that's the only thing I'd change. This was a solid purchase, and I'd recommend it.

    Excellent achat!

Excellent achat!

A piece of essential gear for the trails

This ultralight rain jacket really lives up to it's name. Previously I own a similar rain jacket without a hood and I was drenched and cold from the rain coming down my neck during a 7hr ultra race. A friend recommended this and I have used it for my ultra trainings and it kept me relatively dry from the constant West Coast rain (my perspiration kept it a bit crammy inside, which is unavoidable anyway). It is so packable that I hardly feel it's weight on my running vest when I don't need it. Just recently I brought it on my fastpacking trip on the West Coast Trail and it served me so well as a wind breaker (I was blessed with dry weather during the 3 days). I was first worried that the fabric might be too thin and flimsy for my 28L day pack (with 17lb of gear) but I'm happy that it was not. However I do not recommend carrying a heavy backpack on this rain jacket as it may not withstand the load on its seams. I also love that the cut was roomy enough to accommodate a base layer inside when I use it in Winter. It's now my essential piece of rain gear for all my outdoor pursuits.

    Rain jacket

I was looking for a rain shell to tuck into pack for those days on the trail when the rain hits unexpectedly. This is it. Also for travelling in the day pack. It is too frail to be of use for extended tougher hiking trips but will do just fine for what I want it for. The occasional rain shower.
