    Lone Peaks, but waterproof

I got these as a gift for my mom, and she loves them. Having owned the Lone Peak 8, her only complaint was their lack of waterproofing. These fit and feel just like her other lone peaks, but in the waterproof model. If you are looking for something with a grippier sole, there is also the Lone Peak 9+, which has a Vibram rubber sole.

    Women’s low hiking shoes

I like the fact that they’re waterproof, and low cut. They have Altra’s nice boxy toe so they’re really comfortable.

    Chaussures d'hiver fiables

    Great shoes

I bought these because I needed more room for my toes. I was also looking for a decent walking shoe for the winter. They’re waterproof, comfortable and have good traction on snow. I walk 7-10 km a day and they do the trick. I recommend.

    Good all around hiking show

Good all around hiking/walking shoe for those who need width and flexibility. The tread may be a bit light for soft/muddy/slippery conditions but is otherwise good. These are my everyday walking/hiking/farm shoes so we'll see how well they stand up!

Great shoe for running outdoors in snow

Hello, these are great winter running shoes especially in the snow!

    Nicely structured but Too heavy

The shoe looks pretty solid but I felt it was too heavy for my needs. I like that there’s room for my toes. I wish they offer more neutral colors like black and white 👌

Great build but a little too big

Great shoes with great build. Just a little too big compared to to other models.

    Disappointed

As an Altra wearer, I was looking forward to trying this model for a trip to Iceland next year where the plan is to do some gentle (not serious) hiking in wet conditions. The shoes look decent, yes are a little stiff which I was prepared to live with but the debate going forward will be the metal eyelets. Was a little surprised to see this style of shoe. Okay they are there but beware. The top toe eyelets may bite into your ankle as neither are protected by the tongue of the shoe. Definitely not comfortable. I have seen this concern noted in a review on the manufacturers site. I am currently experimenting with a different lacing technique to see if I can salvage the fit. Otherwise they will just have to go back.

    Good shoe!

Love the traction. I wear these in late fall/early winter when it’s icy and a bit of snow and they are great.
