Sure, compared on paper, they’re very similar. But in reality, they’re quite different.

I’ve owned both of these parkas. Although the Quartz I only had for a little while as I had to return it because of down filling missing in the sleeves.

Both are high quality garments to be sure. But the design is not the same.

Firstly, the Canada Goose is larger than the Quartz. I wear XXL and the Quartz feels like an XL in the CG.

The hood on the CG is much larger and once zipped all the way up covers your face much more adequately than the Q.

Speaking of zippers, the CG boasts a zipper that has teeth easily twice the size than the Q’s. The Quartz zipper is flimsy. I don’t know why this article would say they’re both comparable. They are not.

Both are dressy parkas, but if you want a more functional one, the Canada Goose is your best bet.

If you’re just walking the city streets in a suit, the Quartz is a great choice. But if you’re planning on trekking besides a river in the – 30’s,the Canada Goose is far superior.

You can get the Quartz parkas at a discount. About 20% off will get you in the 700$ range. At which point this would be a good bargain. But if they’re not on sale, for just 20-30$ difference, the CG is the way to go.
