The men's Sphene is the lightest shell jacket in the Arc'teryx Whiteline collection and is specifically designed for backcountry ski tours through regions like the Coastal Mountains of British Columbia. It utilizes 3-layers of taped-seam N40p-X GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics to provide wearers with a breathable, ultra-light shell that is extremely waterproof and 100% windproof. Arc'teryx designed the Sphene in an ergonomic pattern e3D fit, which provides enhanced maneuverability along with targeted articulation in areas you move most when hiking and shoveling through deep backcountry snow.

StormHood | WaterTight™ Zippers | Powder Skirt

The Sphene comes with an articulated, helmet compatible StormHood, which has Cohaesive® cord-lock adjustability and a laminated brim. All the zippers on the jacket exterior are WaterTight™, including all the pocket zips, the center front VISLON™ zipper. The angled armpit zippers have also been specially designed for easy access while wearing a backpack. Arc'teryx also equipped the Sphene with a grippy, lightweight powder skirt and gave the sleeve cuffs laminated die-cut adjustment tabs, for extra protection from the snow.
