Men's 3x1 System Expedition Parka

A two-in-one built for versatile coverage, this hooded parka features two separate jackets that can be zipped together for maximum warmth or worn separately for less. The outer shell features heavyweight 2L fabric insulated with PrimaLoft. The inner jacket is hooded and made with goose down. Layer as needed.

Goose Down
Ounce for ounce, goose down is the finest lightweight insulator known, natural or synthetic. It's unique three dimensional structure creates thousands of tiny air pockets. These air pockets, trapped by the down fibers, provide the superior insulating ability that goose down is known for. Quality goose down is also extremely resilient and has the ability to be compressed then spring back to it's original shape. Goose down is extremely breathable compared to other materials. It allows water vapor to pass through, wicking it away through the filaments while retaining the warmth in the air pockets. We use a premium 90/10 blend of goose down for our jackets. The higher down to feather ratio provides greater insulating properties and lighter weight. All our down is certified traceable.

About PrimaLoft
PrimaLoft is a patented synthetic microfiber insulation, originally developed for the US army as a water-resistant alternative to goose down. The ultra-fine fibers of PrimaLoft form air pockets that trap heat from your body, keep the cold air out, and provide an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. If insulation gets wet it loses these air pockets and so the ability to insulate, but the Primaloft fibers undergo a waterproof treatment so they retain their insulating properties even when wet. We use PrimaLoft Gold in our garments, the highest standard of all synthetic insulations.
