To save up half the weight on a snowshoe, we not only had to change from aluminum to carbon but we had to completely rethink the way how snowshoes are built. Conventional snowshoes always consist of frame with a separate decking. For our carbon snowshoe both, frame and decking, are laminated in one single step. This made our snowshoe much lighter and stronger. Having half the weight on your feet makes all the difference – each step becomes so much easier you will find it hard to believe, you have to feel it.
